Hanoi (VNA) – Nearly 250Vietnamese citizens were flown home safely on October 8 thanks to joint effortsby Vietnamese authorities, the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia, and budgetcarrier Vietjet.
Passengers on board included children under18 years old, the elderly, pregnant women, people with illnesses, workers whoselabour contracts expired, students without accommodation due to dormitoryclosure, and others in difficult circumstances.
The Vietnamese Embassy sent its staff to theairport to help the citizens with check-in procedures.
Security, safety and hygiene measures wererigorously taken during the flight to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Upon landing at Can Tho InternationalAirport in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho, all the crew members andpassengers were given medical check-ups and put under quarantine in line withcurrent regulations.
In the time to come, more repatriationflights will be arranged to bring Vietnamese citizens home, depending on theirdemand and domestic quarantine capacity./.

Nearly 340 Vietnamese citizens were brought home from European and African countries in a repatriation flight conducted by the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines on October 3-4.
