Bangkok (NNT/VNA) - The Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking(JSCCIB) has come up with proposals in six main areas as a framework forstimulating the economy together with the government.

These proposals arestrengthening public-private partnerships, upgrading collaboration between thegovernment and the private sector at various levels, enhancing thecompetitiveness of the private sector, developing the management system of thegovernment, supporting important government projects, establishing goodgovernance & social responsibility and enhancing skills and knowledge andquality of life of human resources.

Prime Minister andDefense Minister General Prayut Cha-o-cha has responded that the proposalswould be taken into consideration.

He expressed confidencethat the private sector will cooperate with the government to find ways andmeans to work under the volatility of the global economy and the difficultsituation stemmed from the ongoing trade war.

He touched on the EasternEconomic Corridor project, saying he will make sure that the mega project willbenefit all groups of people and the nation as much as possible.

PM Prayut has asked theprivate sector to promote SMEs to provide low-income earners with access toquality and to manufacture affordable products to help improve the quality oflife of all groups of people thoroughly.-NNT/VNA

Malaysia detects 556 fuel-related violations in two months

KPDN Enforcement Director Azman Adam said on May 10 that authorities had made 161 arrests, with the total value of seized goods estimated at 23.17 million MYR (5.9 million USD). Diesel-related offences accounted for the largest number of cases at 249, followed by petrol-related violations with 119 cases.
