Bangkok (VNA/NNT) - Thailand and Cambodia will celebrate their 65th anniversary of relationship with a gala dinner concert in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from February 23-25.

According to a press conference about this event on February 19, the main concert will comprise three major themes, Celebration, Love, and Harmony of the two kingdoms which reflect the improved relationship between the two.

The concert will be performed by the Thai students from the Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music (PGVMI) and the students of the Royal University of Fine Arts of Cambodia. It will include the royal compositions of King Rama IX of Thailand and King Norodom Sihanouk of Cambodia.

The political relationship between the two countries has been significantly improved recently. This gala concert for instance, is due to the formal visit of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, following the direct invitation from the Cambodian Government, something that hadn’t happened for eight years. The growing degree of integration among the ASEAN countries also plays role in this growing relationship

This event is jointly organised by Thailand's Ministry of Culture, Thai Embassy of Phnom Penh, PGVMI, and the Thailand-Cambodia Friendship Association.

The gala concert will take place on February 24 and the public concert on February 25 at the Sofitel Phnon Penh Phokeethra, and Chaktomuk Conference Hall in Cambodia, respectively.-VNA
