The Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee andHead of the CPVCC’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation Ha Thi Khiet andleaders of the central agencies and sectors also attended the event.
The congress commended 120 children for their outstanding achievementsin the emulation movement called “Thousands of good deeds for belovedUncle Ho.”
During the congress, which takes place on the anniversary of PresidentHo Chi Minh’s 120 th birthday, incense will be offered at the Ly ThaiTo statue to commemorate the King who founded the capital city, ThangLong.
In response to the movement “Thousands of good deeds for beloved UncleHo”, over the past five years, the city’s children have amassed 20.8million good academic marks, donated 107 tonnes of clothes, 1 millionbooks, thousands of textbooks and raised more than 8 billion VND to helppoor children nationwide.
More than 100 children of the city’s sons and daughters received topprizes at the National Young Information Technology Contest while 150others received the title of city’s IT knight. Tens of thousands of thechildren’s paintings and letters have been submitted to other regionaland international contests./.
