Cuban media highlights relations with Vietnam

According to Cuban media outlets such as Granma, Cubadebate, Cubasí, Prensa Latina and ACN, President Díaz-Canel expressed appreciation for the patriotism and determination of the Vietnamese people, noting that the Cuban delegation had received warm affection wherever it went.

Havana (VNA) - Cuban media has given wide coverage to the official visit to Vietnam from August 31 to September 2 by Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President of Cuba, underlining the solidarity, special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

During the visit, the Cuban leader held talks with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and met with other high-ranking leaders of Vietnam. He also attended the celebration of the 80th National Day of Vietnam on September 2 and activities marking the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Cuba.

According to Cuban media outlets such as Granma, Cubadebate, Cubasí, Prensa Latina and ACN, President Díaz-Canel expressed appreciation for the patriotism and determination of the Vietnamese people, noting that the Cuban delegation had received warm affection wherever it went.

The Cuban leader was reported to have valued the progress in bilateral relations following the visit to Cuba by General Secretary Lam in September 2024, and affirmed the importance of further strengthening cooperation between the two Parties in all fields.

As part of the visit, the two sides exchanged agreements and memoranda of understanding in rice production, healthcare, comprehensive cooperation, document management and archiving, and the establishment of a pharmaceutical joint venture.

President Díaz-Canel also attended a ceremony marking the symbolic handover of 14.5 million USD, the first phase of a support campaign for Cuba initiated by the Vietnam Red Cross Society on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties.

Cuban media also carried articles and interviews with leaders, former officials, and ambassadors of both countries, reflecting on the traditional ties and mutual support between the two peoples.

On this occasion, Vietnam Television and Cuban Television were scheduled to jointly broadcast the short film on September 2, highlighting cooperation in rice production./.
