Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam and Cuba have agreed on measures to boost investment cooperation and create favourable conditions for Vietnamese firms to engage in Cuba’s socio-economic development, a Cuban official said.
Cuban First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Marcelino Medina Gonzalez revealed the outcomes of the recent fourth political consultation at the Deputy Foreign Minister level in Hanoi at an interview with Vietnam News Agency correspondents on September 6.
The two sides shared national development experience with each other and agreed to continue mutual support at international and multilateral forums, he said, adding that Cuba appreciates what Vietnam has achieved during the Doi Moi (renewal) process, he said.
The Government of Cuba has implemented measures to continue consolidating socialism and protecting the revolution’s achievements, while boosting economic development and encouraging foreign investment, he added.
The Cuban Deputy Minister expressed delight at the strong growth of Vietnam – Cuba solidarity, founded by late Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Fidel Castro, and nurtured by the Parties, Governments and people of the two nations.
Previously on September 5, Cuban First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Marcelino Medina Gonzalez and his Vietnamese counterpart Ha Kim Ngoc co-chaired the fourth Deputy FM-level political consultation in Hanoi.-VNA
