– The central city of Da Nang on May 23 launched a programme and a fund aimingto promote local tourism.

The “Da Nang ThankYou 2020” programme will last from May to December with attractive products andservices. More than 150 local travel companies have joined the programme sofar.

Under the programme,maritime tourism services will be discounted from July 17 to 31 and shoppingand entertainment services, from November 23 to December 6. Besides, Da NangFantastic Week will run from December 22-28 with special activities and eventsto mark Christmas and New Year holidays.

Apart from freetickets to famous tourist destinations like Ngu Hanh Son and museums from June1 to August 31, there will be discounted tour packages to be offered by eightprestigious firms.

Initially worth 3.85billion VND (165,500 USD) raised by individuals and organisations in the city, theDa Nang Tourism Promotion Fund is set to connect the business community andcreate more resources for tourism promotion, especially amidst COVID-19.

Thecentral coastal city aims to serve 9.8 million tourists in 2020, a year-on-yearrise of 12.74 percent, according to the municipal Department of Tourism.

The number of international visitors is expected to increaseby 13-15 percent year-on-year.

The city is building a night economic development plan in thefield of tourism to realise the 2020 target.

In2019, Da Nang welcomed 8.69 million holidaymakers, including nearly 3.5 million foreigners, up 30.7 percent from the previous year./.
