Nam Dinh (VNA) – A government delegation,led by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, visited andextended New Year greetings to poor families and workers in the Red River Deltaprovince of Nam Dinh on January 22.

Visiting families of policybeneficiaries in My Loc district, Minh expressed his gratitude for theircontributions to the cause of national protection.

He expected them to continuefollowing the Party and State’s laws and policies as a role model for the proceedinggenerations.

The delegation also attended aTet (Lunar New Year) gathering and met workers at the Nam Duoc Ltd., Co., inNam Dinh city’s Hoa Xa industrial park.

At the meeting, the Deputy PMstated that the Party and State will continue to create favourable conditionsfor workers.

He asked Nam Dinh authorities tobe more attentive to the living standards of local residents, particularlypolicy beneficiaries and poor families, adding that trade unions at all levelsshould work to take care of labourers’ needs, especially as Tet approaches.

Minh requested that businessescreate favorable working conditions for their employees, ensuring they receivethe appropriate wages, bonuses, and social and health insurance in line withregulations.

Workers, meanwhile, need to becreative and help companies increase their productivity, thus makingcontributions to the social-economic growth of the locality and the nation, he said.    

As part of their trip, thedelegation presented nearly 200 gifts to local poor households, policy beneficiaries,Agent Orange/dioxin victims, and disadvantaged workers.–VNA
