Da Nang (VNA) – The “Enjoy Da Nang 2024” festival was kicked off at East Sea Park, the central beach city of Da Nang on July 17.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Tran Chi Cuong, Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee, said the festival is expected to be a distinctive tourism product and an effective promotional activity to attract more domestic and international tourists to the locality while supporting businesses in promoting their tourism services, thereby boosting business operations.

The five-day event offers a wide range of activities in the fields of entertainment, sports, culture, cuisine, and tourism, enriching experiences of both locals and visitors.

Among those, there are a grand music festival featuring renowned singers and artists, a yacht art performance on Han River, an international food festival with 50 booths, introducing local and foreign specialties as well as One Commune One Product (OCOP) items.

The annual event will host a series of distinctive arts programmes at night in several venues across the city such as East Sea, Ha Khe and Nguyen An Ninh Parks, traditional and modern street art performances and magic shows, among others.

In the first half of this year, Da Nang welcomed about 5.1 million visitors, a 25.6% increase year-on-year. Revenue from accommodation and dining services increased by 22%, and revenue from travel services and tourism support activities surged by nearly 60%.

The city aims to welcome 8.4 million visitors this year./.
