These days, there is information on social media that many solid iron and steel barriers are erected at residential area gateways in Chuong Duong ward, and this worries many people here.

They are concerned questioning that, if a fire or other cases of emergency happen, will such too-carefully and overly-necessary setup barriers hamper firefight and rescue.

A VietnamPlus reporter verifies that the barriers truly exist. However, on the whole, Nguyen Khoai-Tran Khanh Du-Tran QuangKhai route, from the Nguyen Khoai-Tran Khat Chan intersections to the foot of Long Bien Bridge, only one in a total of 12 epidemic checkpoints appears as a solid barrier. The remaining 11 checkpoints are flexible with functional forces being on duty throughout the day.

Therefore, in case of fire and emergency in Chuong Duong ward, the functional forces can absolutely move from the flexible checkpoints and go along the road parallel to the dike for a prompt response.

According to some members on checkpoint duty, the point where the hard barrier is placed is just a side road, with less crowded traffic than that at the other gateways.

As the route is long-running along the dike with too many entries and exits, while the functional forces are quite thin compared to their long-hour checkpoint duty, placing such a solid barrier is aimed to avoid dispersal of forces./.
