First VicePresident of the Cambodian Senate Sim Ka hosted a reception for a delegation offormer Vietnamese voluntary soldiers in Phnom Penh on March 20.

On behalf of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP),the official expressed deep gratitude to Vietnamese soldiers and experts whosacrificed their lives and stood side by side with Cambodian people to help thecountry get rid of the Pol Pot genocidal regime.

The achievements Cambodia has gained are thanksto prompt support from Vietnamese Party, State and people, he said, adding thatCambodia is determined to preserve and develop the sound relations with Vietnamfor the sake of their peoples.

Colonel Trinh Vinh Pha, Vice Chairman of theVietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association, said he was glad to see Cambodiarevive and develop strongly as today.

He underlined the solidarity between Vietnam andCambodia, adding that the two countries have supported each other in both thewar time and the peace time.

During their working trip to Cambodia from March19-25, the Vietnamese delegation laid wreaths and offered incense at themonument of Vietnamese fallen soldiers in Phnom Penh as well as visited theVietnamese Embassy in Cambodia and met with the Vietnamese-Cambodiancommunity.-VNA
