HCM City (VNA) – The Exchange Day for Young Journalists, Youth andStudents of Vietnam - Cambodia Border Provinces in 2019 wrapped up in Ho ChiMinh City on November 7.  

Jointly held by the  the Ministry of Informationand Communications (MIC) in collaboration with the Vietnam Youth Federation CentralCommittee, the four-day eventwas part of activities to celebrated the 52nd anniversary ofVietnam-Cambodia diplomatic relations.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Doan Cong Huynh, Director of the Authority of ForeignInformation Service under the Ministry of Information and Communications, underlined the significance of the event, saying it contributes tostrengthening the friendship between the two nations.

The event also offered a good chance for participants to share experience, thuspromoting mutual understanding, and helping them gain insights into the cultureand people of Vietnam and Cambodia.  

Delegates will help connect and enhance the traditional frienship andlong-lasting co-operation between Vietnam and Cambodia.

The event took place in HCM City and the southern province of Tay Ninh,attracting the participation of 200 young journalists, youths and students.

A series of activities were organised in the framework of the exchange such asa friendship workshop, visits to outstanding economic models and cultural andhistorical sites, and seminars on the role of communications in strengthening solidaritybetween the two sides./.

Quang Ngai to remove hundreds of unregistered fishing vessels

To date, Quang Ngai has 5,194 registered fishing vessels, with data regularly updated in the National Fisheries Database (VNFishbase). The provincial licensing rate for fishing activities has reached 81.94%, while 99% of local vessels required to install vessel monitoring systems (VMS) have complied.

A total of 351 communes free of temporary, dilapidated houses

From February 21-28, 7,540 temporary and dilapidated houses were renovated or replaced nationwide, bringing the total number of facilities improved under humanitarian policy to 115,481. Of these, 62,737 houses were inaugurated, while construction began on another 52,744.

Tay Ninh strives to eliminate temporary houses by Q2

In 2025, the southwestern province plans to rebuild or renovate 567 houses under its temporary housing eradication plan, including 443 new constructions and 124 repairs, with an estimated budget of over 44.8 billion VND (1.75 million USD).

Vietnam set to host Vesak 2025 with thorough preparations

The United Nations Day of Vesak Celebrations 2025 will take place from May 6-8 in Ho Chi Minh City under the theme “Unity and Inclusivity for Human Dignity: Buddhist Insights for World Peace and Sustainable Development.” The event is expected to welcome around 2,000 delegates from Vietnam and abroad.
