Tay Ninh (VNA) – Nearly 200 young journalists and students from Vietnamese and Cambodian border localities gathered at an exchange in the Mekong Delta province of Tay Ninh on November 5.
The event was held by the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Vietnam Youth Federation (VYF) in collaboration with the Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports as part of activities to celebrate the 52nd anniversary of Vietnam-Cambodia diplomatic ties, as well as promoting the preservation and consolidation of the traditional friendship between the two nations.
Addressing the opening ceremony, VYF Vice Chairman Nguyen Hai Ninh reiterated the long-standing friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia, saying they have stood shoulder-to-shoulder in their struggle for national liberation in the past as well as socio-economic development at present.
The four-day exchange is being held to enhance solidarity and friendship between youths from both nations, while creating opportunities for them to share journalism experience, mutual understanding and cooperation, he added.
Meanwhile, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Ngoc said that the event is expected to deepen the traditional solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the two countries in general and young people in particular, contributing to sustainability and prosperity in the region.
Various activities are scheduled at the exchange, including a tree planting event in Tay Ninh city, the inauguration of a children’s playground in Binh Minh commune and trips to several tourism sites in Tay Nin province and Ho Chi Minh City./.
