Hanoi (VNA) – A large number of Vietnamese andforeign experts, management officials and artists gathered at a conference inHanoi on August 23 to discuss the development of cultural and creativeindustries in Vietnam in the digital era.

The event, jointly held by the Department of International Cooperation under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Netflix, was part of a series of events to specify the ministry’s memorandum ofunderstanding on cooperation in cultural, creative economy, sports and tourism withthe American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (AmCham) in which Netflix is amember.

Dr. Nguyen Phuong Hoa, Director of the Department of International Cooperation, highlighted the development opportunities that digital technologies havebrought to the cultural and creative industries, as well as challenges that thesectors are facing, especially in intellectual property and cybersecurity.

She hoped that participants will point out opportunities and challenges forVietnam in the fields and share experience in building policies for the growthof the industries.

At the event, participants listened to a thematic report onpolicies to boost the growth of the cultural and creative industries in Vietnam inthe digital environment, which analyses the macro policy system as well as specificpolicies on developing digital infrastructure, policies on culture and the culturalindustry and policies for particular sectors.

It also gives some recommendations on measures to promotethe cultural industry amid the fourth Industrial Revolution, including the completionof mechanisms and policies to ensure the growth of the industries, the expansionof digital infrastructure, and the development of high-quality human resourcesfor the industries.

Some participants said that it is necessary to consider products of the culturalindustry as intellectual property that need to be accepted as a specificproduct in creating and promoting cultural values./.

Ministry of Home Affairs to apply KPIs in public employee evaluation

Public order crime drops 22.55% in first half

In the field of economic crime, 2,096 cases involving 4,194 suspects were prosecuted in the first half. For corruption and position-related crimes, 370 cases and 1,042 suspects were brought to trial. Meanwhile, police uncovered 11,687 drug-related cases involving 22,863 individuals.

Thai Princess Award Foundation strengthens education ties with Vietnam

Youth volunteers support operation of local administration model, online public services

The programme prioritises 286 remote border communes, wards and special areas, where coordination between local youth units is seen as crucial. Volunteers are deployed across three main functions: supporting officials with administrative procedures, helping people and businesses submit online applications and payments, and offering digital training through creative models such as mobile tech clinics and grassroots tech groups.
