First foreign visitors under vaccine passport scheme enjoy Hoi An tour

Quang Nam (VNA) – After testing negative forCOVID-19, the first foreign visitors under the pilot “vaccinepassport” programme took a tour around Hoi An Ancient Town in the south-centralprovince of Quang Nam on November 11.
John Coles, a tourist from Singapore, said he is happy and feels safe toreturn to Hoi An which is home to not only beautiful and peaceful landscapes butalso friendly people.

The foreign holidaymakers took a cyclo tour around the townand visited several famous sites, among others. They were alsoenthralled with an art show called “Vietnam que huong toi (Vietnam, my Motherland),with performances staged by local artists.

Vice Chairman of the Hoi An People’s Committee Nguyen VanLanh expressed his gratitude towards the visitors for choosing Hoi An as thefirst destination in their trip to Vietnam.
It has taken great efforts from the local authority andpeople over the last two years to welcome back foreign tourists and to make HoiAn a safe and friendly destination, he said, adding that he expects to see HoiAn and Quang Nam at large regaining its reputation.
The visitors are scheduled to visit UNESCO-recognised culturalheritage My Son Sanctuary in Duy Xuyen district on November 21 and come back fora night tour in Hoi An later the same day./.
Two world heritage sites in the central province of Quang Nam – Hoi An ancient town and My Son Sanctuary – began to welcome foreign tourists starting November 15.
The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines on November 17 operated its first pilot fight carrying international tourist from Seoul (the Republic of Korea) to the central coastal city of Da Nang.
A Vietjet Air flight carrying 100 foreign tourists is expected to arrive at Da Nang International Airport in the central city of Da Nang at 11:05 pm on November 18.
After a hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the central city of Da Nang has opened its door to international tourists under a three-phase pilot road map.
As many as 204 tourists from the Republic of Korea landed on Phu Quoc in the southern province of Kien Giang at noon on November 20, marking the first group of foreign visitors to the resort island in the “new normal” period after nearly 2 years of closure.
