A conference focusing on foreign news services and the dissemination of information on sea, island and border demarcation opened in Hanoi on Nov. 29.
Officials from ministries, sectors, central agencies and northern localities participated.
Deputy Director of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Popularisation and Training Bui The Duc said the conference was aimed at improving the quality of information for foreign audiences and overseas Vietnamese, focusing on foreign policy and national defence, religion and works to fight conspiracies and activities by hostile forces against Vietnam .
Participants discussed the major contents of the Declaration of the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC), measures to solve disagreements in the East Sea and implementation of tasks to protect maritime sovereignty and security, as well as dissemination of information on sea and island issues.
They also exchanged experiences and initiatives in the field and discussed issues relating to Vietnam ’s land borders, border security and investment flow between Vietnam and countries with common borders in the process of demarcation and border marker placement.
The conference will run until Nov. 30./.
