French organisations, individuals honoured by Vietnamese ministry

Many French organisations and individuals and overseas Vietamese in France have been honoured by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for their prominent contributions to the Vietnam-France friendship, especially in promoting culture exchange between the two nations.

Paris (VNA) – Many French organisations and individuals and overseas Vietnamese in France have been honoured by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for their prominent contributions to the Vietnam-France friendship, especially in promoting culture exchange between the two nations.

Vietnamese Ambassador to France Nguyen Ngoc Son  handed over the ministry’s certificates of merit to the Association Touraine-Vietnam, journalist and filmmaker Daniel Roussel, and President of the Association for Technical and Cultural Cooperation (ACOTEC) Alainn Dussarps, at a ceremony in Paris on November 25.

In his speech, the ambassador praised tireless efforts of the recipients to promoting all-round cooperation between the two nations, expressing his hope that the honoured organisations and individuals will make more contributions in the coming time.

In recent years, the Association Touraine-Vietnam, which is joined by Vietnam-loving French friends in central Tours city, has showed its role as a bridge connecting culture between Vietnam and France through seminars and activities to introduce Vietnam’s culture, customs and culinary art.

The association has also worked to support Vietnamese students in Tours and adjacent areas in learning about France’s culture.

Journalist Daniel Roussel, who has worked in Vietnam for six years as a correspondent of the L'Humanité (Humanitarian) newspaper, wrote scripts and directed a documentary films such  “Cuoc chien giua ho va voi” (Dien Bien Phu - the BattleBetween a Tiger and an Elephant) and “Cuoc chien tranh Viet Nam – Trong tam cua cac cuoc dam phan bi mat” (Vietnam war, the center of secret negotiations”.

Meanwhile, ACOTEC President  Alainn Dussarps, who is also Vice President of the France-Vietnam Friendship Association, has been active in organising activities to promoting cultural identities of Vietnamese ethnic minorities groups in France, raising funds for Vietnamese AO victims.

 On the occasion, a number of individuals, who made contributions to developing and promoting Vietnam’s traditional martial arts in France, were presented with the insignia “For the cause of Sport” of the ministry./.
