Finanzen financial newspaper praised Vietnam’s preparation for the important political event.

Itquoted IPU President Saber Choudhury as saying Vietnam has taken theopportunity as host of the IPU-132 to demonstrate the country’shospitality and growing development as well as to promote its historyand culture to international friends.

The newspaper confirmed the event was a successful step in implementing Vietnam’s international integration policy.

Themedia – Pressportal, Finanzen and Nachrichten – mentioned the event’soutcomes, especially the Assembly’s adoption of the Hanoi Declarationwhich highlighted the role played by IPU member parliaments inprotecting common interests and maintaining prosperity around the world.

With over 70 conferences and meetings, IPU memberparliaments represented their commitments to achieving globalsustainable development goals, stressed the press agencies.

Taking place from March 28 to April 1 in Hanoi, IPU-132 brought together parliamentarians from 127 IPU member parliaments.

TheIPU-132 agenda focused on “Sustainable Development Goals: Turning wordsinto action” with a vision to bring commitments to life in waterresources, cyber security and international law – critical issuesimpacting the world as it enters a new post-2015 growth period.

Parliamentarians reaffirmed the vision of apeople-centred sustainable development agenda based on the realisationof universal human rights, eradicating poverty and eliminatinginequalities, thus empowering individuals to reach their full potential.

Commenting on Vietnam’s contributions tothe successful IPU-132 in his speech at the closing ceremony of theevent, Chowdhury stated that Vietnam played an important role in theagenda, preparations, session discussions and sideline events.-VNA

Pathways to double-digit growth to be tabled at 16th NA’s first session

In the morning sitting on April 20, deputies are expected to hear proposals and verification reports on a range of draft resolutions. The documents cover breakthrough mechanisms and policies for the development of Vietnamese culture; the establishment of Dong Nai as a centrally run city; a pilot framework for public lawyer institution; and special mechanisms to address land law violations committed prior to the 2024 Land Law taking effect, alongside measures to resolve long-delayed and stalled projects.
