Joerg Bergstermann, Country Representative of Germany’s Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) in Vietnam, has received the “For the cause of building trade unions” insignia for his contributions to Vietnam’s trade unions.
President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Dang Ngoc Tung presented the award to the FES representative in Hanoi on August 15.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Tung highly valued efforts made by Joerg Bergstermann and the FES in general to Vietnamese trade unions, especially in training staff and building a legal consultancy system and the draft Trade Union Law and Labour Code (amended).
The FES Office in Hanoi has served as a bridge for boosting cooperation between Vietnamese and German trade unions, he said.
For his part, Joerg Bergstermann affirmed his attachment to Vietnamese trade unions, saying that the experience he obtained during his working time in Vietnam would help him greatly in his new position./.
