The Government Inspectorate detected the misuse of over 9 trillion VND (428 million USD) and 183 ha of land in the third quarter of this year, the agency told a press briefing in Hanoi on October 23.
The discovery was the result of 2,146 administrative inspections and over 47,000 others on specific sectors that the agency carried out in the reviewed period.
The agency also transferred 12 suspected criminal cases to investigation authorities.
At the same time, inspectors brought to light six corruption cases involving 12 suspects and more than 1.3 billion VND (47,600 USD).
Administrative agencies at all levels processed over 5,000 out of the 9,232 complaints and accusations.
In response to complaints about overlapping activities of the Government Inspectorate and the State Audit Office, Deputy Chief Government Inspector Ngo Van Khanh said the agency is working with the Ministry of Public Security and the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission on regulations for more effective coordination in the field.
In the coming time, the Government Inspectorate will closely work with the State Audit of Vietnam (SAV) to increase the efficiency of the work, Khanh confirmed.-VNA
