As many as 263 photos featuring the beauty of Vietnam’s land and people are being showcased at the 26th National Art Photography Exhibition in the northern city of Hai Phong.
The exhibition that opened on May 11 is part of activities to celebrate the 2013 Red River Delta - Hai Phong National Tourism Year.
The exhibits, selected from 7,000 entries of professional and amateur photographers nationwide, portray outstanding features of Vietnam during its national construction and defence, the country’s achievements during the industrialisation and modernisation, its natural landscapes, as well as local people’s daily lives.
The works also reflect all fields of the social life, including politics, economics, culture, education, security-defence and external affairs, as well as feature the real and diverse lives of Vietnamese ethnic groups across the nation.
The event will open to visitors until May 17.
Earlier on May 10, the Red River Delta Open Tourism Fair and a book exhibition were launched in Hai Phong city.
At the tourism fair, there are more than 190 booths featuring tourism services in 20 cities and provinces across the country.
Visitors to the fair have the opportunity to learn about a wide range of local specialties as well as places of interest in major tourist centres such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Khanh Hoa and Thua Thien-Hue provinces, as well as areas in the Red River Delta region.
Agencies including Vietnam Airlines, and local travel Saigontourist and Viettravel are providing information and pictures of their tourism products as well as special promotions and discounts for travellers.
Meanwhile, the book exhibition showcases 1,250 publications, including books, newspapers, pictures, photos and maps, which reflect the process of formation and development of the land and people in the Red River Delta.-VNA
