Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoialways welcomes and creates favourable conditions for Irish investors to boostbilateral cooperation in trade, culture, high-tech agriculture, and smart citybuilding, a local official has said.

Vice Chairman of the municipalPeople’s Committee Nguyen The Hung made the statement on August 5 whilereceiving Irish Ambassador to Vietnam Cait Moran, who came to bid farewell atthe end of her tenure.

Acknowledging Moran’scontributions to relations between Vietnam and Ireland as well as between Hanoiand Irish localities, Hung hoped the diplomat would continue connecting the twonations and promoting the image of Hanoi among Irish people.

The Vice Chairman said he wantsHanoi and Ireland to hold more exchanges and cultural activities to enhance mutualunderstanding.

For her part, Moran said thecommunity of approximately 1,000 Irish expatriates in Hanoi has contributedpositively to the capital, particularly in education.  

She noted Hanoi is on its way tobecome a worth-living city in the world thanks to efforts made by the localauthorities and people.

The ambassador expected to havemore chances to make further contributions to the city’s growth in her newpositions.-VNA

This is PM Hung’s first official visit to Cambodia. It holds particular significance, demonstrating the high priority that the Party, State and Government of Vietnam attach to relations with Cambodia and contributing to further deepening the bilateral ties of “good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term sustainability”.
