Hanoi ceremony marks army’s 70th founding anniversary

A ceremony was held in Hanoi on Dec. 20 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the VN People’s Army.
A solemn ceremony was held in Hanoi on December 20 to celebrate the 70th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) and the 25th All People’s Defence Day (December 22).

Theevent was attended by Party General Secretary and Chairman of the PartyCentral Committee’s Military Commission Nguyen Phu Trong, PresidentTruong Tan Sang, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, formerParty and State leaders and leaders of the Defence Ministry.

Addressing the event, which was broadcast live on Vietnam Television,President Truong Tan Sang extended greetings to heroic Vietnamesemothers, heroes of the people’s armed forces, war veterans, and allofficers and soldiers of the VPA.

Over the pastseven decades, under the absolute, direct and comprehensive leadershipof the Party and with the people’s support, the VPA has overcome allhardships and difficulties to make great victories during the cause ofliberating and defending the country and fulfilling internationalmissions, he stated.

Noting complicated andunpredictable developments in the regional and global situation, thePresident affirmed the Party and State’s steadfast goal of nationalindependence in combination with socialism while promoting the strengthof the nation and the era.

He stressed the need tocontinue building the VPA into a revolutionary, regular, elite, andgradually modern army which takes the political quality as a foundationfor improving its combative strength.

On the occasion, PresidentTruong Tan Sang presented the Gold Star Order, the noblest award of theParty and State, to the VPA in recognition of its great contributions tothe revolutionary cause of the Party and State.-VNA

Vietnam, China sign 32 cooperation documents

The documents include a cooperation plan between the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Communist Party of China (CPC) for the 2026–2030 period; a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation between the Organisation Commission of the CPV Central Committee and its Chinese counterpart; and a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam and the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee.
