Hanoi hosts first ever “Ban” flower

The Ban (Bauhinia) Flower Festival is taking place in Hanoi. This is the first time the capital city has hosted the event.

The Ban (Bauhinia) Flower Festival is taking place in Hanoi. This is the first time the capital city has hosted the event.

The festival feature 300 bouquets of Ban flowers from Northwest Vietnam together with presentation of culinary art of the ethnic minorities of the region as well as exhibitions showcasing traditional culture, books, folk sports, singing and dancing.

It also calls upon the community to join hands to build suspended bridges for ethnic children and improve water quality in the region.

Ban is the typical flower of the northwestern mountainous region whenever spring comes. 

The festival aims to promote the beauty of Northwest Vietnam culture. It will run until April 14.-VNA
