Delegation from the Party Committee, the People’s Council, the People’sCommittee and the Fatherland Front’s Committee of Hanoi on April 22 laidwreaths at the statue of Vladimir Ilych Lenin in Lenin Park, to markhis 142 nd birthday, April 22, 1870.
Thedelegation was led by Ngo Thi Doan Thanh, Deputy Secretary of themunicipal Party Committee and Chairwoman of the People’s Council.
Later the same day, another delegation from the Hanoi Union ofFriendship Organisations, the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association’sHanoi Chapter, and the Hanoi National University of Education along withmany social and political organisations in the capital also laidwreaths at Lenin’s statue.
Lenin was one of theleading political figures and revolutionary thinkers of the 20thcentury, who masterminded the Bolshevik take-over of power in Russiain 1917 and was the architect and first leader of the Union of SovietSocialist Republics (USSR).
He was also a great teacher of workers worldwide.-VNA
