Hanoi has rolled out a number of measures to develop its grassroots health care network in a bid to enhance capacity and service quality, thus reducing overload at central hospitals in the city.

During 2015, the city aims to have 90 percent of its communes, wards and town meeting national standards in terms of health care, while upgrading existing medical stations.

More policies will be applied to attract qualified doctors and medical workers to work at communal-level health care stations, increasing service quality at these facilities.

The city health care sector will also strengthen inspection and monitor of the implementation of professional regulations, thus reducing mistakes and errors.

Particularly, the family doctor model will continue to be expanded at general clinics and health care stations, with the goal of having at least one family doctor department at each health care centre.-VNA
