Hanoi (VNA) - Doctorsat the Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital in Hanoi successfully performed its 1,000thkidney transplant in late September.
The operation lasted forthree hours. Ten days later, the patient remains in a stable condition and willsoon be discharged.
Since its first renaltransplant in 2002, the Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital has carried out 122operations of this kind from brain-dead donors, or 12 percent.
The hospital is the leadingfacility in the country for multi-organ transplants. It also supports otherfacilities and contributes to saving the lives of many patients through the useof modern technology./.
