Hanoi’s consumer price index (CPI) in April rose 0.12 percent againstthe previous month, a year-on-year increase of 6.27 percent.
The biggest hike was seen in the groups of garment and footwear with 0.44 percent.
Itwas followed by catering services, up by 0.32 percent; beverages andcigarettes, 0.3 percent; household commodities and equipment, 0.25percent; and transportation, 0.26 percent.
Meanwhile, the pricesof medicine and healthcare services, education and entertainment andtourism services rose between 0.03-0.05 percent.
Out ofthe 11 baskets of commodities measured, only the group of housing,electricity, water, fuel and building materials decreased for threeconsecutive months to 1 percent in April.
The drop was attributed to a reduction in the price of petroleum and gas from the early days of the month.-VNA
