Permanent Vice Secretary of the municipal PartyCommittee Tat Thanh Cang expressed the wish at a reception for Deputy Head ofthe Department for External Relations of the Cuban Communist Party CentralCommittee Juan Carlos Marsan on January 18.
He noted two-way trade has increased throughyears and reached 60 million USD in the first 10 months of 2017.
HCM City will do its utmost to nurture thespecial friendship between Vietnam and Cuban for the sake of their people aswell as common peace and prosperity.
For his part, Marsan said Vietnam plays acentral role in Cuba’s external relations.
The Southeast Asian country is also an importantpartner in Cuba’s economic development strategy, he added.
In 2018, the two countries will coordinate toorganise high-level exchanges to promote bilateral friendship and cooperationbetween their Parties, States and peoples, he noted.
He suggested Cuba and HCM City share moreexperience in socio-economic development policies and step up collaboration inthe fields of mutual concerns such as health care, education, tourism, andpharmaceutical chemistry.-VNA
