HCM City (VNA) – The Ho Chi Minh City Police on March 8 announced that they had busted a drug trafficking ring from Cambodia to Ho Chi Minh via the southwest border route, arresting 27 suspects and seizing over 30 kg of drugs.
Of them, three were caught red-handed on March 6 while transporting drugs to an apartment in Binh Chanh district for storage. At the scene, more than 30kg of drugs were seized, including three bricks of heroin, eight kg of methamphetamine, over 12kg of ketamine, tens of thousands of ecstasy pills, and hundreds of packages of liquid drugs.

The same day, police teams arrested 24 others involved in the illegal transport and sale of drugs in large quantities.
Following investigations, police discovered the suspects had stored drugs in the apartment. Ring leaders used subordinates and technology-based delivery services to distribute drugs to lower-level dealers and users.
They then launched a pre-dawn raid on March 6 and arrested three ringleaders who were transporting the drugs into an apartment for repackaging and storage.
Investigation is underway to identify and apprehend all accomplices./.
