Phnom Penh (VNA) – Cambodian authorities arrested 1,311 drug suspects involved in 539 cases in January, according to a report from the Anti-Drug Department (ADD).

In January, over 423 kilogrammes of illicit drugs were confiscated from these suspects’ possession, the report indicated.

Most of the seized drugs consisted of ketamine, crystal methamphetamine, methamphetamine pills, ecstasy, heroin, and cocaine.

Under Cambodia's Constitution, the country does not impose a death sentence for drug traffickers. Under its laws, those found guilty of trafficking more than 80 grams of illicit drugs could face life imprisonment./.
