Lang Son (VNA) - The northern mountainous province of Lang Son is making efforts to eliminate 4,405 temporary and dilapidated houses by the end of 2025, including 3,079 that need to be rebuilt.

At a conference of the provincial steering committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses and the development of social housing on March 6, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Hoang Van Nghiem urged localities, agencies, and relevant units to mobilise all available resources to accelerate the removal of makeshift houses for residents. The steering committees at all levels must promptly address any arising difficulties and obstacles, Nghiem stressed, urging local Party committees and authorities to strengthen leadership, direction, and management in this effort.

The provincial People's Committee was tasked with directing relevant departments to closely coordinate with and guide district- and city-level authorities in implementing, disbursing, and finalising financial support for building new houses and repairing temporary and dilapidated homes in localities.

At the same time, it is necessary to mobilise contributions to the programme from agencies, organisations, businesses, charitable groups, and donors inside and outside the province, he added./.
