Vientiane (VNA) – A quiz on the Vietnamese language has been held for Lao teachers at the Nguyen Du Lao-Vietnamese bilingual language school in Vientiane on the occasion of 115th anniversary of International Women’s Day.

This was the first time the school had hosted such event, which attracted a large number of participants.

Speaking at the March 7 event, principal of the school Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong emphasised that the contest provided an opportunity for teachers to showcase their Vietnamese communication skills, while also serving as a platform for cultural exchange and sharing knowledge about Vietnamese culture and people.

Huong highlighted the school's goal of encouraging each teacher to act as a cultural ambassador, promoting Vietnamese culture to their families and friends, thereby strengthening the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.

The contest featured three teams, each consisting of three members, competing in segments such as self-introductions, multiple-choice questions, and a Q&A session. The questions covered various topics, from history, geography, and culture to the special relationship between the two countries.

On this occasion, Pham Phuc Long, Vice President of the Vietnamese Association in Vientiane, lauded female teachers' contributions to teaching and learning movements. He affirmed that women play an essential role and should continue to be empowered in the process of integration and development./.
