Hanoi (VNA) - Ho Chi Minh City needs 96 trillionVND (4.17 billion USD) to implement 15 key transport projects, according to themunicipal Transport Department.
Of the figure, over 31.1 trillion VND will be sourced by thecity’s budget and the remainder will come from public-private partnerships andother sources.
The projects include the construction of Can Gio and ThuThiem bridges, the expansion of National Highways 1 and 13, and elevated roadsNo.1 and No.5, among others.
Director of the municipal Transport Department Tran QuangLam said the department will work closely with transport departments ofprovinces in the southern key economic region to submit a proposal to theTransport Ministry asking to step up regional connectivity projects such as CatLai bridge and expansion of Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giayexpressway.
Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le HoaBinh asked the department to build a strategy and roadmap for the next fiveyears to monitor their implementation./.
