Hanoi (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City has seta target to provide 100 percent of publicservices online at level 4 by 2030.
Level 4 is the highest level of online public services, whichallows users to fill and submit forms, and pay fees online.
In the first quarter of2020, Ho Chi Minh City's authorities provided 668 online public administrativeservices at levels 3 and 4 in various fields, and more than 80percent of local residents and organisations said they were satisfied with theservices.
According to the city’s Department of Home Affairs, district andcommune-level administrative units handled more than 84 milliondocuments online in the last five years.
On average, more than 16 milliondocuments were handled online each year. The rate ofdocuments processed on time reached 97.5 - 99.9 percent.
Since 2017, processing time for administrative documents fell by30-50 percent. About 99 percent of totaladministrative documents were done online on time.
The provision of online publicservices is expected to help boost the development of the digital economy,which is hoped to contribute 40 percent to the city’s gross regional domesticproduct (GRDP) by 2030.
According to the municipalPeople’s Committee, the digital economy is expected to account for 25 percentof its GRDP in 2025, while the labour productivity will increase at least 7percent per year, and the rate of locals and enterprises having electronic payment accounts will reach over 60 percent.
