
Quang Nam (VNA) - Thanh Ha Terracotta Park in Hoi An city, the central province of Quang Nam will introduce astatue garden to create more art space on April 30.
The park’s managing director, Huynh Ngoc Uyen Phi, told Vietnam News that thegarden will display terracotta statues of 20 people who made greatcontributions to the UNESCO-recognised heritage of Hoi An.
She said a statue of Polish archaeologist and architect Kazimierz Kwiatkowski,known as ‘Kazik’, who made endless efforts to restore Hoi An, My Son Sanctuaryand the Complex of Hue Monuments, will be in the garden along with musiccomposer Trinh Cong Son and retired Party Secretary of Hoi An city Nguyen Su.
A painting exhibition on the beauty of Hoi An’s people and land will also bedisplayed at the park on April 27-30.
Additionally, some 50 paintings collected from a workshop of artists from HCMCity and the southern province of Dong Thap will go on display at theexhibition,
Also on the fun, Da Nang City’s Fine Arts Museum will host an exhibition of 70paintings by artists from the city and Quang Nam province at 78 Le Duan streetfrom April 28 to May 8.
The museum also has a permanent display of 413 works by artists in the city andfrom provinces in the region.
An exhibition of antiquities collections will be opened at the Da Nang Museumat 24 Tran Phu Street between April 28 and May 10.
About 60 artefacts including bronze sculpture censers and ceramic pots duringthe Nguyen Dynasty, Chu Dau ceramic collection (16-17th century), and a stonecarved painting of China from 19th century will be displayed.
The Da Nang Museum also has a collection of 11 ancient cast-iron cannons (madeduring the Nguyen Dynasty, between 1802-60) that were unearthed at DienHai Citadel.-VNA
