Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) ChristineLagarde highly valued Cambodia for its high economic growth andpledged continued support for the country's financial reform.
Lagarde made the remarks during a meeting with Cambodian PrimeMinister Hun Sen in Phnom Penh on December 2, predicting thatCambodia 's economy would see the robust annual growth of over 7percent in the medium-term.
She added thatCambodia has become an attractive place for investors due to itsreforms, encouraging the country to continue its financial reform. Shesaid that the IMF was pleased to continue supporting Cambodia inthis task.
For his part, PM Hun Sen thanked the IMFfor its technical assistance to Cambodia in financial as well ascustoms and excise reform.
During her two-dayworking visit to Cambodia that began on December 1, she wasscheduled to pay a courtesy call on King Norodom Sihamoni, and meet withDeputy Prime Minister Keat Chhon and Finance Minister Aun PornMoniroth.
Cambodia is her first leg of a three-Asian nation tour before the Republic of Korea and Myanmar.-VNA
