Jakarta (VNA) - The Coordinating Ministry forEconomic Affairs (CMEA) of Indonesia said on October 11 that the country aimsto complete construction of 17 specialeconomic zones (SEZ) in 2019.
According to the ministry, the country has inaugurated 13 SEZs nationwide,with total investment of 85.3 trillion Rp (6.05 billion USD), which attracted nearly8,700 labourers.
Besides the 13 SEZs, the remaining four SEZs areunder the process of construction including Kendal SEZ (Central Java), LikupangSEZ (North Sulawesi), Nongsa SEZ (Batam), and MRO SEAs (Batam Island).
SEZs have become regional economic drivers, said Coordinating Minister forEconomic Affairs Darmin Nasution./.
