Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesia’s National Development Planning Ministry has said it is preparing four strategies to strengthen economic resilience in pursuit of quality and just growth.

The first strategy pertains to economic recovery, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, an official from the ministry, disclosed at a working meeting with the Budgetary Committee of the House of Representatives (DPR) on June 16.

The economic resilience policy is directed at accelerating economic recovery, including restoring the people's purchasing power, diversifying products, and conducting business climate reforms, she said.

The second strategy involves promoting the manufacturing industry by improving productivity and competitiveness, developing industrial estates as investment destinations, implementing Industry 4.0 and digital technology, and driving exports of processed goods rather than raw materials to increase added value, Widyasanti informed.

The third strategy covers tourism and includes restoring the tourism market, strengthening tourist destinations through good governance standards, improving infrastructure, including sanitation, and increasing the added value of the creative economy, she said.

The strategy also includes human resources development for creating a skilled workforce and market expansion to usher in tourism recovery, which is expected to happen by 2023, she added.

The fourth strategy pertains to micro, small, and medium enterprises (SMEs) and includes encouraging education and training courses, coaching, and financing, she said.

The strategy also covers the development of territory-based champion SMEs, supply chain-based strategic partnerships, and business consolidation supported by production and digitalisation, she added.

"Of equal importance is how to continue fiscal reforms, apply financial systems, improve the quality of investment, improve the logistics system, and speed up the transition to new and renewable energy," Widyasanti was cited by Indonesia’s Antara News Agency as saying./.
