Jakarta (VNA) - Indonesian Minister of National Defence Ryamizard Ryacudu said on January 14 that Bali could be the next target of terrorism following bomb attacks in Sarinah, Jakarta.

The minister called upon the community to increase their vigilance on possible terror attacks.

Indonesia has also deployed military and police forces to take security measures, particularly in the Denpasar, Gilimanuk, Jembrana and Padang Bai regions.

Consecutive explosions and gunfire took place in the heart of Indonesia’s capital of Jakarta on the morning of January 14, leaving at least seven people dead and injuring 19 others.

The Indonesian Government pledged to step up the fight against terrorism and continue working hard to ensure security and safety for Indonesians and foreign nationals in the country as well.-VNA
