Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on October 21 asked Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf to verify and validate the data of beneficiaries receiving government social assistance, ensuring that aid is directed to the rightful recipients.

Speaking to media, Saifullah said that the first directive from President Prabowo is to validate the data.

He acknowledged that the current government data often fails to accurately reflect the number of beneficiaries, largely due to a lack of regular updates from regional authorities.

He said the central government plans to work closely with municipal governments to continuously update data from each region.

Earlier, during his inaugural speech on October 20, Prabowo said his administration will prioritise ensuring government subsidies reach those most in need and will implement measures to prevent the misuse of social assistance funds./.
