Police from Indonesia’s Central Java in coordination with their Chinese counterpart have arrested 33 people suspected of joining a cybercrime network in Semarang city, local media reported on July 21.

According to Jakarta Post, the suspects, including 21 Chinese and 12 Taiwanese, in their 20s and 30s, were allegedly targeting people in China.

The police also seized an Indonesian who worked as a translator for the suspects.

They confiscated a number of laptops from a two-storey house where the gang have been staying for around two months.

The suspects were brought to the National Police headquarters in Jakarta for questioning.-VNA
