Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesia’s Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said that the coutry’s government will soon issue electric motorcycle incentives, aiming to encourage increased performance of the automotive industry this year.
According to him, the incentive scheme will be issued in the near future to encourage people to use environmentally-friendly vehicles.
The minister revealed that the production of two-wheeled vehicles reached 6.91 million units in 2024. Then, the national motorcycle sales performance also grew by 6.33 million units.
Meanwhile, exports of motorcycles in the form of CBU (completely built up) have now reached 572,000, followed by exports of CKD (completely knocked down) of 46,000 units, and exports of part by part of 153 million units.
He stressed that through this performance, many small and medium industries have been involved.
The Minister of Industry appreciated the increasing number of new automotive brands entering the Indonesian market. This is believed to be able to expand the automotive market in the country./.
