Japanese company ABI wants to transfer an agro-aquatic product preservation technique, named Cells Alive System (CAS), to Vietnam.

The Saitama prefecture-based company’s director Norio Owada voiced his wish at a meeting with the visiting Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Tran Viet Thanh, on August 29.

Owada said that CAS is an advanced technique, which can preserve the taste, colour and nutrition of agricultural and aquatic products in a longer time than traditional freezing method.

Experts said CAS is able to help improve international competitiveness of agricultural and aquatic product exports, ensure food security and open up new applications in medical research.

Thanh said Vietnam is interest in Japan’s agro-aquatic product processing and preserving techniques, adding that he will instruct relevant agencies to work out plans on cooperation with ABI./.
