Japanese Consulate General Mizuki Ikuo on Jan.21 cut the ribbon on a Japanese language study lab in HCM City University of Social Science and Humanities, using 67,632 USD funding from the Japanese Consulate.

The lab, which has 48 sets of computers and headphones and microphones, would facilitate Japanese language and culture studies for students, said Ikuo.

“The timing of the opening of this new lab is significant because we have just upgraded Japanese studies into a faculty, with bachelor, master and doctoral curricula, from Asian studies,” said the university’s rector Vo Van Sen./.
