Ha Nam (VNA) – A businessdelegation from the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) had a workingsession with authorities from the northern province of Ha Nam on February 26 toexplore the local investment environment.
Secretary of the provincial Party CommitteeNguyen Dinh Khang highlighted the comprehensive diplomatic relations betweenVietnam and Japan in all fields, which is a favourable condition for Japanesebusinesses to invest in Vietnam and Ha Nam in particular.
He hoped that the JCCI would pay greaterattention to Ha Nam, especially in promoting the local investment environmentto Japanese firms.
Yoichi Kobayashi, Chairman of the Japan-MekongBusiness Cooperation Committee, said the JCCI delegation wants to further studythe advantages of Ha Nam, as well as its investment attraction policies andmechanisms.
He said JCCI has over 1.2 million memberbusinesses operating all across Japan.
His committee is one of the five departments ofthe JCCI, which is responsible for helping the chamber promote investment andeconomic development cooperation between Japan and other countries in theregion and the world.
Vice Chairman of the provincial People’sCommittee Truong Quoc Huy said Ha Nam is the southern gateway of the capital Hanoiwith a convenient transport system and abundant human resources.
The province has eight industrial parks approvedby the prime minister, including six operational ones. Notably, Ha Namis home to the Dong Van III support industrialpark, which has been specifically designed for Japanese businesses, he said.
Its high-tech agricultural parks are drawing alarge number of both domestic and foreign businesses, he noted.
The provincial People’s Committee pledged toprovide the best conditions for Japanese investors to promote production in HaNam.
So far, 82 Japanese businesses have registeredto invest in Ha Nam with a total capital of 873.3 million USD. –VNA
