Japanese culture exhibition to open in Vietnam

An exhibition on Japanese culture will be held at the Vietnam National Museum of History early next year as part of activities to mark the 40 th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties.
An exhibition on Japanese culture will be held at the Vietnam NationalMuseum of History early next year as part of activities to mark the 40th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties.

Agreementsto this effect were signed by the Vietnam National Museum of Historyand Japan’s Kyushu National Museum in Hanoi on November 11.

Theexhibition will open to visitors from January 16 to March 9, 2014. Itwill introduce Japan’s history and culture through art works andarchaeological objects.

A representative from the Japanesemuseum said the event is also a special activity under the framework ofthe Amity and Cooperation Agreement in Asia.

Variouscultural events are taking place in Vietnam as part of activities tocelebrate the 40 th anniversary of the Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties.

They include a Japanese film festival which will run in Hanoi, thecentral city of Da Nang and the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Taufrom November 11 to December 15 and an exhibition of lacquer paintingsby Japanese artist Saeko Ando that opened in Hanoi on November 9.

Earlier, the annual Japan-Vietnam Culture Exchange Festival was held in Ho Chi Minh City on October 6.-VNA
