Joint efforts to help Vietnamese workers from Libya

Concerned agencies and companies have exerted joint efforts to help Vietnamese workers return to the normal life after 1,015 Vietnamese workers on board a vessel from Libya arrived at the Cai Lan Port, Quang Ninh province on April 4.

Twobusinesses that sent workers to Libya, namely the Vinaconex Trade &Manpower Export Centre (Vinaconexmec) and the Viet Thang Company,arranged 30 buses to transport repatriated workers to their homes,mainly in the central provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh.

In addition, the two companies provided 1 million VND in support for each worker.

VuViet Hai, a representative of the Viet Thang Company, said his companyis seeking labour markets in and out of the country to help thereturnees continue working instead of liquidating contracts with them.

TheMinistry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs has issued anofficial document asking province and city authorities to provideassistance to the returnees, and encourage businesses to recruit theworkers.

Dang Huy Hau, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh provincePeople’s Committee, stressed the province’s top priority is to createfavourable conditions for the Vietnamese workers back from Libya to findjobs.

The province provided 3 million VND in support to each worker right after they returned to their home in Quang Ninh.

Thenorthern province of Ninh Binh has taken measures to support theworkers, including cash support of 3 million VND for each labourer.

Ninh Binh province has 231 labourers returning from Libya.

TheVietnamese labourers returning by sea were the last Vietnamese workersto go home in the Vietnamese government’s largest-ever campaign torescue 10,300 workers from chaotic Libya. /.
