Kazakhstan, Palestine send sympathy to Vietnam over flooding

President of Kazakhstan Kassym Tokayev, and President of the State of Palestine and Chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organisation Mahmoud Abbas sent messages of sympathy to Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong over serious flooding that caused human and material loss in the central region.

Hanoi (VNA) – President of Kazakhstan KassymTokayev, and President of the State of Palestine and Chairman of the PalestineLiberation Organisation Mahmoud Abbas sent messages of sympathy to PartyGeneral Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong over serious floodingthat caused human and material loss in the central region. 


According tothe Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, floodingthat began on October 6 had killed 111 people and left 22 missing nationwide asof 7am on October 21. Some 371 ha of rice paddies have been submerged, 7,126 haof crops damaged, and over 700,000 heads of cattle and poultry killed or sweptaway.

The floods also inflicted substantial damage upon local agriculture, irrigation, and transportinfrastructure./.
