Vientiane (VNA) – Lao newspapers on June 30 devoted their front pages for articles highlighting the official friendly visit to Vietnam by Lao Party General Secretary and State President Thongloun Sisoulith from June 28-29.

All agreed that the visit was a great success and contributed to intensifying and deepening the special relationship between Laos and Vietnam.

Major newspapers such as Pathet Lao of the Lao News Agency (KPL), Pasaxon (People), Vientiane Times, and Vientiane Mai published the full text of the Laos-Vietnam joint statement, and a series of stories featuring the Lao leader’s trip as well as the bilateral relations.

They said the visit reaffirmed the Lao Party, State and people’s consistent commitment to maintaining the traditional, profound and close relationship and mutual trust between the two countries.

The newspapers also focused on the Lao top leader’s activities as well as the events held during his visit, including the signing ceremony of cooperation agreements between the two countries and their agencies, and economic contracts between their businesses./.
